The president of the Popular Party believes that the early elections will probably be in 2021.
The president of the Popular Party, Vuk Jeremic, said that the party’s Board of Directors made a decision on the issue of cooperation with the organizations that attended the June 21 elections and that it will not change.
Photo: People’s Party“The partners of the Popular Party in the fight for better electoral conditions can only be organizations that, like us, boycotted the fraudulent elections. “Those who did well in the June ‘elections’ cannot credibly advocate for something better by threatening a boycott, because they have already shown that they are not prepared for that,” Jeremic told the assembly of the Municipal Board of the Popular Party of Rakovica.
“Allow me to express myself plastically, the one who betrayed once, will betray again, there is no dilemma,” said Jeremic, according to the press service of the Popular Party.
Jeremic added that early parliamentary elections are most likely to be held in 2021, because the situation in Serbia will worsen and “the popularity of the regime will suddenly go downhill.”
“Serbia faces very difficult months and it will be impossible for the regime, despite almost absolute control of the media, to cover up the catastrophe. The government will rush to elections when it realizes that in the next year or two, its popularity will only go down, “Jeremic said.
He noted that, therefore, the Popular Party began to prepare as if it were going to the polls and will make the final decision when the electoral conditions are known.
“We have frequent people in our ranks, teachers, doctors, workers, artisans, lawyers, and against us is the electoral machinery of professional scammers who do not stop using violence. That is why we must prepare well and have enough people to defend the results of the elections at each table and in each ballot box, ”said Jeremic.
Jeremic said that the Popular Party “lived its first betrayal in Rakovica”, but that it “repaired the damage” so that today it is a much more solid, stable and strong organization than before.
“I sincerely hoped that the Popular Party would be immune from treason, but it turned out to be naive. However, it’s good that it happened to us at this stage, and not after, ”said Jeremic.
People’s Party Vice President and Belgrade Commissioner Zdravko Ponos said that the Belgrade board will focus on issues that are important to citizens for the improvement of daily life.
“We will speak in a qualified and convincing way, because we have quality people who are recognized experts.” Citizens will decide when to vote not only based on the statements of party leaders, but also on the actions of the party at the local level, it is that is, recognizing key problems and offering solutions to those problems, “Ponos said.
The vice president of the People’s Party, Miroslav Aleksić, said that next year “all eyes will be on Belgrade, because it seems that the regime may be defeated in the capital.”
“We do not have much time and that is why we have to work hard. I am sure that we will establish an organization that will be successful in Belgrade and throughout Serbia,” Aleksic said.
