People’s Party Chairman Vuk Jeremic strongly condemned the decision of the local Kucevo government to change the name of the Cultural Center, which is named after the famous singer Djordje Marjanovic.
“The followers of Aleksandar Vučić in Kučevo are shamefully trying to tarnish the national legend of Đorđe Marjanović. The decision to change the name of the center is not only a lack of respect for one of our best singers, but also an act of revenge for the opposition from his son Marko Marjanović, “Jeremić said.
Jeremic recalled that Djordje Marjanovic left a mark in the hall of the Cultural Center in Kucevo more than 15 years ago, and in this way he accepted the part that his citizens of Kucevo indicated in the referendum, announced the Popular Party.
“Now, however, the government embodied in the followers of Vučić wants to destroy everything that remembers the greatness of our national legend. If we do not respect the great Đorđe Marjanović and everything he did, if we do not respect one of the symbols of the culture national, how can we expect that? authorities to respect other citizens, “asked Jeremic.
Jeremic noted that Djordje Marjanovic is “bigger than progressives and the one they adore and whose ideas they implement.”
“The greatness of George Marjanovic cannot and will not be endangered by the arrogance and primitivism of progressives. They will soon become a thing of the past, which we will dismiss with a whistle at eight o’clock in the next elections,” Jeremic concluded, according to the statement.
