The member of the Serbian Socialist Party, Jelena Mihailović, who had a kind of musical performance in the Serbian Assembly last night, is not unknown to the national public, and especially in art circles.
The young woman from Valjevo (33) is a cellist who until now has not been involved in politics and has lived on the Belgrade-Los Angeles route for many years. In public, however, she is much better known under the stage name Jela Čelo.
He graduated from the Belgrade Faculty of Music, after which he began a successful career and won prestigious awards. He has performed as a soloist on stages around the world, has worked with many prestigious artists and has collaborated with many Hollywood directors.
Yesterday, at the end of her speech to the entire Assembly, Jelena rapped the verses of a song written in 1981, after which the leader of the Socialists, Ivica Dačić, reacted.
The new speaker of the Serbian Assembly said that Mihailović was “the world’s cello master” and that he was tolerant and allowed him to exceed the time allowed for the speech because that was his first speech in Parliament.
