A young man, Ivan S. (25) from Sefkerin, died today near the Pupin bridge, while on his way from Zemun towards Borča. The accident happened today around 3 pm
According to the statements of the witnesses to the tragedy, the young man who was driving a “Kawasaki” motorcycle towards Borča and most likely lost control due to the unadjusted speed, landed off the road and hit a traffic light. Iván was killed at the scene due to the force of the blow.
– He came across a ledge that is after the Pupin bridge, started to meander and crashed into a flagpole – said one of the eyewitnesses.
The scene at the crash site was horrible, the engine that the young man was driving was split in half in two by the force of the impact, the body was lying next to the pillar it struck, and traces of blood could be seen on the road.
The ambulance and the police arrived very quickly, but the unfortunate young man was not saved. According to the story of his friends, the young man always drove at the permitted speed, respected all regulations and wore a helmet.
