Ivan Kontić, extradited to Serbia from Montenegro and suspected of brutally beating a man’s room in August this year, was questioned today before the judge by the previous procedure of the Novi Sad High Court.

After the public hearing, his defense attorneys Zora Dobricanin Nikodijevic and Dejan Bugarski addressed the public.

Dejan Bugarski pointed out that during the evidentiary process, the defense will present all the evidence that shows that in the aforementioned case not all the essential elements of the criminal act of attempted murder that his client is accused are found.

He also noted that Kontić was sentenced in advance in public, without trial.

Let us remind you that Kontić is a suspect in the attempted murder of MM (28) in Serbia. The Serbian Ministry of Justice sent a request to the Montenegrin authorities for Kontić’s extradition, after a video of the brutal beating of MM in Novi Sad on August 24 appeared in the media and on social media.

The footage shows a man beating another man helplessly after knocking him down and then breaking his arms.

Agents from the Montenegro Police Administration arrested Kontić on October 11 in a rented apartment in the Podgorica neighborhood of Zabjelo.
