Ivan Kontić extradited to Serbia H1 Serbia

Ivan Kontić from Nikšić, suspected of brutal beating in Novi Sad, was extradited to Serbian judicial authorities this morning, announced his defense lawyer Damir Lekić, Vijesti reports.

Lekić said that Serbian police officers came to pick up Kontić this morning and took care of him, and that he would take part in legal proceedings against him in Serbia.

Kontić is a suspect in the attempted murder of MM in Serbia. The Serbian Ministry of Justice sent a request to the Montenegrin authorities for Kontić’s extradition, after a video of the brutal beating of MM in Novi Sad on August 24 appeared in the media and on social media.

The footage shows a man beating another man helplessly after knocking him down and then breaking his arms.

Agents from the Montenegro Police Administration arrested Kontić on 11 October in a rented apartment in the Podgorica neighborhood of Zabjelo.

The police confirmed that Kontić had been extradited.

“Today the Montenegrin citizen IK (30) was extradited from our country to the Republic of Serbia. This person is wanted in accordance with the international arrest warrant of the NCB Interpol Belgrade to carry out a criminal process for the crime of attempted homicide, “said the UP.
