“It’s too bad we cursed Dick Marty, instead of taking him seriously.”

“It is unfortunate that as a society, when the Council of Europe’s Dick Marty report was published, we started to curse it instead of taking it seriously,” he told KTV, Kosovo reports online.

He also assessed that “Serbia is an occupying country, which had to create a special court, and it was also created by Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was an occupied country, as well as Croatia,” Kosovo reports online.

According to him, in Kosovo it was not done immediately in 2015, and not in this territory, but abroad, which, as he said, is another mistake.

“Another mistake that is being made is that the Court is still being challenged today. Just because someone has been invited for an interview does not mean they are guilty, nor does the fact that an accusation is filed mean they are guilty. Those who are not guilty can no longer be found guilty by a court and must be acquitted. However, those who committed crimes and the court confirmed that Kosovo society should not glorify such people and portray them as heroes, “said Gashi.

He added that he did not know why Saljih Mustafa was being charged. “I have not seen the accusation and I cannot have any opinion on this,” Gashi said.

He reiterated that he was in favor of the Special Court, but that there were problems with it.

“I have always feared that the Special Court could be used as a means of blackmail against Kosovo politicians and be forced to make decisions that are detrimental to Kosovo’s interests. Because, unfortunately, Kosovo politicians have been blackmailed in two ways in the last 20 years: they were committed to corruption, the vast majority of them, especially those who came out of the war, and on the other hand, the court could blackmail them into making decisions or signing agreements to the detriment of Kosovo, “said Gashi.

He assessed that there are three parties here, the international community, Serbia and Kosovo.

“The Special Court responds to Serbia because it wants to discredit the liberation struggle of the Kosovo people for freedom and independence. The international community uses the Special Court, because this is Serbia’s request, as an opportunity to separate Serbia from the Russian influence and fulfills this condition should Serbia secede from Russia. ” “Kosovo must accept this court because it cleans up the liberation war of the people of Kosovo once and for all, including those who committed crimes, including in the main KLA structures,” Gashi said.

Gashi stressed that the war of the Kosovo people cannot be condemned if some KLA members are punished.

He mentioned that the leaders of Kosovo were released, unlike those of Serbia, who were convicted of war crimes.

“This is not a court founded by the UN. This is a Kosovo court, which is not our fault in our country, because we have no police, judges. The Kosovo police must arrest them, because that way we send a message to the international community that Kosovo is a country of law and government, ”said Gashi.

He believes that political negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia hampered the work of the Special Court immediately after its establishment, and that the Agreement signed by both parties in Washington paved the way for Kosovo’s benefits.

As reportedly, Gashi called the KLA veterans’ approach to Special Court wrong.
