BELGRADE – Education Minister Mladen Šarčević has been banned from Kosovo and Metohija.
The Minister left for Kosovo and Metohija, and previously it was announced from his office that he would attend the beginning of the school year at the University of Pristina, with temporary headquarters in Kosovska Mitrovica. Šarčević confirmed that he was not allowed to enter Kosovo.
– This is not the first time that I am not allowed to enter Kosovo and Metohija – says Šarčević from Novosti. – My predecessor left yesterday, they also announced my arrival, and then today the Office for Kosovo and Metohija and my cabinet received a stupid explanation. It is unclear why I was not allowed to enter.
The minister says he didn’t even make it to Jarinje, but the news caught him when he left Nis for Kosovo.
– The Pristina authorities obviously do not like the fact that we teach in the territory of Kosovo and Metohija according to the Serbian model, and they obviously do not choose a way to obstruct that process – says Šarčević.
