In 1971, Stevo Žigon came to Ljubljana, where he directed Pygmalion in the Ljubljana drama. Elsa Doolittle was played by my mother Meta Vranič, then a very young, beautiful and talented actress. You could say that inadvertently it happened as the product of a brief romance, between a great actor and my mother, who decided for me despite a situation in which it was obvious that my father would return to his home in Belgrade, where there was but one family. . I found out when I was 15, but I didn’t want to look it up.Although he also knew about me, mainly because he had a stepfather, who adopted me as a child, and also because he did not know how his family would react, the illegitimate son of the famous actor began his confession.

– When I gathered enough strength to finally meet him, I was 28 years old. I immediately went to Belgrade, where I was wonderfully received, although none of the family members, except Steve, knew that I existed. For the next five years, from 2000 to 2005, when he passed away, I went to see him in Belgrade and they were extraordinary moments, which cannot be forgotten. The day before his death he called me in Ljubljana and asked if I could forgive him for not wanting to meet me, and when I told him that I loved him it seemed like that was the only thing he needed to know before he left us. . I am still in close contact with his daughter Ivana Žigon, who was also with me in Ljubljana. By the way, I have been involved in poetry since childhood, so I wrote a poem about my father Stevi Žigon, which was originally written in Serbian. It is included in my third book Metamorphosis (which is bilingual for that reason, my poems were translated by a famous poet and my great friend Ana Ristović), which actually reads entirely dedicated to my father.. I am now 48 years old and have three children, all of them very talented in art. I live near Ljubljana in Slovenia – said Vid Žigon.

HERE You can read the details of the great love of the actress Jelena and her husband Stevo Žigon, the great Serbian actor.
