After receiving the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, all measures must still be followed, because only 10-15 days after receiving the second dose, a person can be considered protected.
– First of all, let’s first clarify how to get vaccinated. I advised all my colleagues to draw people’s attention: healthy people, that is, those who do not have any chronic disease, when they come to be vaccinated they must be completely healthy, they must not have a fever, no infectious disease, they must be, in sports terms – “fit” to receive the vaccine. But, when it comes to people with chronic diseases, their condition must be controlled, says prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović and adds:
– If a patient with a chronic disease, be it malignant diseases, diabetes or cardiovascular diseases, is ready for vaccination, only the doctor of his choice can tell. It is the only competent for chronic patients. They know if their patient can get the vaccine. That must be respected and then there will be no problems or side effects. So, chronic patients, first with their chosen doctor, then for vaccination, advises prof. Tiodorović.
Track your contacts
When it comes to healthy people, the rules are clear, says Dr. Tiodorović, explaining:
– Healthy people should be told this: think carefully if there is someone in the family who has signs of illness, if there is someone in your workplace or among friends with whom you drink coffee who has symptoms or already has a confirmed covid 19 . If there is, then it is assumed that you will also get some form of covid 19. It may happen that it is in incubation, on the third, fourth, fifth day, so come and get the vaccine. And then another day passes and the disease appears in its clinical form. You lose smell, taste, you gain temperature, you get fatigued … We have had cases of this type. People call and say: I was vaccinated three, four days ago and now I am sick. It is not a vaccine! You were infected before. That is why it is important that you monitor yourself, your contacts and know what condition you are in before vaccination.
Once again, he explained what to do if he had risky contacts.
– Do a PCR test, if the test is positive then you are not vaccinated. Only when you are “clean”, go get vaccinated. What does clean mean: a negative PCR test, or having antibodies, then your D-dimer is not elevated, your white blood cell count is normal. When everything is fine, you can go get vaccinated. About a month after covid 19, you can get the vaccine. So, the one who went to bed must also be vaccinated. Therefore, so that you do not have to delay the second dose, be careful to follow all the measurements between the two doses of the vaccine. Mask, distance – emphasizes Dr. Tiodorović.
I am positive for covid 19 and I do not know, so I am going to get the vaccine. So what?
– Nothing bad will happen to you. To clarify, we are all hampered by the time factor. No one in the world has had enough time to study all possible reactions to the vaccine. Perhaps for someone who has a milder form of the disease, the vaccine will be just a “booster” that will increase the amount of antibodies and also strengthen immunity. The same will happen with a young and healthy body. But if someone has some other chronic disease, the vaccine can cause a problem. Therefore, it may happen that the disease, which has begun, is aggravated by the vaccine. Therefore, I repeat, it is important to monitor your health and consult with your chosen physician. And be careful between two doses: mask, distance, wash your hands, that’s the most important thing. You will be fully protected from the corona virus 14 to 21 days after the second dose of the vaccine, says the eClinic prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović.
