It is difficult for me to go through the ministry where I worked, I have some resistance

It would seem that almost everything is possible in Serbia, except that someone leaves his function on his own initiative. Rasim Ljajic, the leader of the SDPS, did just that, after 20 years in the post of minister. A month ago he came across the government, but also with his appearance in the media, so questions arise about what he is doing now and what his days are like. Not only does he not regret his position, but, as he says in a conversation with Kurir, he has time for all the things he missed: he takes care of the party, learns English, writes songs and walks. In a word, he breathed.

Dedicated to the party

– I absolutely do not miss the job of minister. My main impression is, like I’m not a minister for a day. I don’t know how, it is even difficult for me to pass through the building where I worked, next to the SIV. I have stamina. So long the participation in the government had to leave consequences, now I feel that I have penetrated – says Ljajic and adds:

– Even if I get up every morning for 20 years, shave and put on a tie, it is a lot, it is not that I have lived the work emotionally and I am completely dedicated. Now he is in the party every day, they are preparing for the party congress, but also for the next elections.

– Lots of new people come to join the party and that’s what motivates me even more to work. I am preparing a congress, which will be online and where there will be no proposed candidates, but all members will be able to vote whenever they want. All leadership is elected: the president, vice presidents, and the Main Board. After that, there is an electoral assembly for Belgrade. We will also adopt a new program, Manifesto 2020, where we will set goals for each area that we think is important. We are preparing in detail for the elections, which will be in spring 2022 at the latest, says Ljajić.

Comments from passersby

He adds that excess free time allowed him to work on perfecting foreign languages, but also to dedicate himself to writing songs.

– I learn English every day, I improve it. Sometimes I work with a teacher at home or abroad, sometimes I am. I also deal with the football club in Novi Pazar, I help as much as the club can survive, says Ljajić and points out:

– Soon I will start writing columns for some media, and I am also writing lyrics for singers. Now more than ever in my life I watch movies. I walk five kilometers every night, always in company. I put my cap on and go. When asked if people were throwing him on the street, he added:

– I hear comments: “Here is Rasim”, but that is common.

AND IT’S HAPPENING I apologized on Twitter

Once, as I was walking, a man came up to me and said, “Are you Rasim?” He told me that he wrote a tweet that he would lie and that he would not leave the government until they expelled me, and like, look, I kept my word. , so I apologize for writing that. I told him everything was fine – says Ljajic.

IN CONTACT WITH MINISTERS I go to Nedimović’s party

I speak on the phone with colleagues, most of the time with Branislav Nedimović and Vanja Udovičić, I have always cooperated well with them and we are also connected by sports stories. Nedimović plays football, we agreed to go to a match to see him, to support him – says Ljajić.
