Their intention was to reach Western Europe, but they ended up on the wrong train.

The Algerian Smail Matsuhi contacted the Paraguayan media to help identify seven migrants, his acquaintances, who were found in a container with fertilizer that arrived from Serbia by boat a few days ago to this South American country.

Smail said that the unfortunate people intended to reach one of the Western European countries via Serbia. It should be remembered that on Friday, the Paraguayan authorities announced that they found seven bodies in a container in our country, which are believed to have died in July, and that only bones and hair remained.

According to the ABC portal, which spoke with the Algerian, there were four Moroccans, two Algerians and an Egyptian in the container of death, who were trying to reach Western European countries through Serbia.

– Ahmed Belmiludi, Muhammad Hadun, Rahid Sanhaji, Sidahmed Oherher, Zugar Hamza and Jasa Amen or Barabara, are young men who were found in a container. The first four are Moroccan, the other two are Algerian, and with them an Egyptian. They were friends, they met shortly before the trip because they stayed together in Serbia for three months – said the Algerian to the photo of the ABC portal:

– They had planned to travel to Italy or Belgium, but the trip was not planned for the day they got on the train – explained the young man. Like he said, they were at the train station when the train stopped.

20,000 kilometers crossed

Paraguayan maritime authorities managed to create a route through which the container with the unfortunate migrants traveled. – The container left Serbia and arrived in Croatia, where they were supposed to leave, but they failed. Later, he continued his journey through Egypt, Spain and Argentina, until he reached Paraguay. The unfortunate youngsters covered 20,000 kilometers.

– For the moment, they decided to board the container and hide there so that the police would not catch them, because they feared that it would prevent them from continuing to travel – said the young man. He explained that he learned of the tragedy from his friends who followed the media.

We learned from the newspapers that they had died. They did not pay the money, it was strange because we knew they got on the train, but not where they were going. They probably thought the trip would be short, around 10pm

The investigation so far has determined that the container was shipped from our country on July 21, and that it traveled to the river port on the outskirts of Asunción, the capital of Paraguay, for three months. Identification cards were found near the deceased, which were issued at the migrant center in Adasevci near Shida, so it was immediately clear that they were on their way from our country.

Do you eat companions?

– All men are of legal age, and are believed to be blind passengers. Their mobile phones will be experts and the route of the trip will be examined in detail, prosecutor Marcelo Saldívar told the media. As we have already written, it was also determined that the youngsters had enough water and food to survive for 72 hours. However, pathologists said some showed signs of suffocation and are believed to have died from lack of breath. – It is also suspected that one of the migrants tried to save himself by eating his companions – reported the media.

The Refugee Police Station confirmed that the migrants were in our country and that they were identified with their cards.

The container owner has been importing fertilizer from Serbia for seven years.

Vernon Rempel, owner of the container, discovered the bodies and called the police because he smelled a strong stench. As he said, while the pallets were unloaded, he saw bones and remains of corpses. – I have been importing fertilizers from Serbia for seven years, so far there have been no problems – said Rempel.
