This morning, the Mayor of Belgrade, Zoran Radojicic, announced the possibility of introducing stricter measures in suppressing the epidemic of the coronavirus virus in the next period, and that will depend on the decisions of the Crisis Staff of the Republic in the city .
– Today, the seat of the Republic is seated, and in Belgrade we will respect all decisions that are made and act in accordance with them. The possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation requires greater attention and a more responsible treatment – Radojicic said in an interview for TV Prva from Geneva, where he was at the Mayor’s Forum.
Radojicic mentioned that he proudly presented the results of Belgrade in recent weeks, taking into account much better results relative to other cities in the region, when it comes to epidemics.
– It is not a time for praise and joy, but to remain committed to the fight. – declared the mayor.
He said that several issues were discussed, most notably, the establishment of the Crisis Command Center for Emergency Situations.
– Given our experience in 2014 due to floods and in the face of climate change and the possibility of disasters with high probability, the development of a project with UNDP is very important. First, gauging stations would be installed to measure river heights and precipitation.
One part of the project is the command center (situation) from which the collection of information and reactions to crisis situations would be coordinated, not only due to floods – concluded Radojicic, adding that preventive actions should be taken.
