Following the hearing at the Superior Prosecutor’s Office, the Nis High Court ordered Ž’s detention for up to 30 days. V. (72) from Prosek, near Niška Banja, in whose family home the police found 220 kilograms of marijuana, two silenced pistols and 850 packs of cigarettes.
– The Nis Superior Prosecutor’s Office issued an order to carry out an investigation against Okr. Ž. V. (72), due to the suspicion that he committed the crimes of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs under article 246 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives under article 348 par. 1 Kz and illicit trade in products subject to excise duty of the article. 176 of the Law of Tax Procedure and Tax Administration. At the suggestion of the prosecution, the High Court of Nis ordered the arrest of the accused for up to 30 days, due to the amount of the threatened sentence and the fact that the commission of the crime caused public unrest, said the spokesman for the Superior Prosecutor’s Office of Nis Borislav Radonjic.
As announced by the Serbian Interior Ministry, members of the Criminal Police Directorate seized about 220 kilograms of marijuana and arrested Ž. V. (72) from the vicinity of Nis due to the existence of grounds to suspect that he committed the crime of unauthorized production and distribution of narcotic drugs.
– The police searched Ž’s family home. V. found 185 packages of marijuana, which, as suspected, was destined to be sold more in the territory of Nis. Two pistols with silencers were seized, as well as 850 packs of cigarettes, for which the suspect will be charged with the existence of grounds to suspect that he committed criminal acts of illicit production, possession, carrying and trafficking of weapons and explosives and illicit trade. The suspect was detained for up to 48 hours and will be taken to the Nis Superior Prosecutor’s Office, along with a criminal complaint, the Interior Ministry announced.
