At the family home of Slobodanka Boba Ugrinić (31) of Banatski Veliki Selo near Kikinda, who died on Wednesday at the level crossing outside Bajmok when a passenger train collided with a “golf course” with Kikinda license plates, the time seemed to stop.
There is no consolation for Mother Rada, Brother Branko, and Father Miodrag. Friends and locals continue to come to the house of pain to express their condolences and, in other words, to try to help ugrínicos in terrible pain.
– They told us that four or five people had already died in that place. Well, how much longer like this? How long will they die at the level crossings? Not only in that, but also in others – repeated the father of the victim Slobodanka.
His brother Branko choked on tears as he listened to his father:
– We have information that the driver, before the tragedy, when he was going in the other direction, called the Serbian Railways to warn them that he had passed three ramps and that all three were raised and that they should repair it. Drivers reported a green light. Here, give them the green light. The ramp was raised! How am I going to do without Boba? She is just beginning to live – Branko was inconsolable.
The father revealed another detail of the terrible tragedy that occurred on the foggy morning of December 2:
– The car my daughter was driving was stopped at 30 kilometers per hour. Boba was careful driving. How fast was the train moving? How much did the train driver drive when the car was pushing 70 meters on the rails? Questions were asked without an answer from the father of the victim Slobodanka.
Ugrinic also received a visit from Slobodanka’s colleagues from the “Stara Moravica” Agricultural-Industrial Complex.
– We are also in shock. Slobodanka was a wonderful person and colleague. We are very sorry. He worked with us for a year and lived in Novi Sad. On the fateful morning, he went to work, one of his colleagues told us after sending his deepest condolences to the parents and brother of victim Slobodanka.
And in Banatski Veliko Selo, silence, tears and disbelief.
– Boba was always cheerful and smiling. He lived in Novi Sad. We still can’t believe this is true. The ugrinians are an honest family. They made a new nest here after fleeing Croatia in 1995. Instead of getting married, they are preparing her for eternal rest, the locals said in disbelief.
A new and terrible tragedy occurred on the level crossings in Serbia when a golf car, driven by Slobodanka, was run over by a passenger train traveling from Sombor to Subotica at the exit of Bajmok.
The train struck the car sideways with full force and carried it several tens of meters … Although the media previously reported that a Kikinda woman was killed in a collision between a “golf” car and a train of passengers, it turned out that a Banatski Veliki Selo resident who lived in Novi Sad died. The confusion is most likely due to the vehicle having Kikinda plates on it.
Slobodanka Boba Ugrinić will be buried on Friday at the local Banatski Veliko Selo cemetery.
