The family of Zvonko Vasiljevic, the pilot who died in yesterday’s plane crash in Brasina near Mali Zvornik, was preparing for the engagement of his own brother, the slain officer’s neighbors say.
Instead of celebrating, family members dressed in black after the tragedy.
His brother came from Russia, where he lives and works, to get engaged. Unfortunately, however, instead of being betrothed, the funeral of his own brother awaits him.
Pilot Captain 1st Class Zvonko Vasiljevic, Deputy Commander for Intelligence and Reconnaissance Affairs of the 101st Fighter and Aviation Squadron, was born on October 3, 1977 in Loznica. He has been in professional military service since September 29, 2001. He left behind his wife and two children.
Along with Vasiljevic, senior pilot Dejan Krsnik died.
The accident occurred yesterday in the Brasina settlement, and a resident was seriously injured when the plane crashed.
