PETROVAC NA MLAVI – In mid-October, a new product will appear on the market in Serbia and the region, a silver mask in sizes for children and adults with an additional level of protection, which was created as a result of connecting national producers Koloid and Galenika Farmacija.
“Silver Mask”, whose production at the Petrovac na Mlavi plant was mediated by the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (SCC), is the result of the application of modern nanotechnologies, where silver and zeolite ions are permanently integrated into the tissue using ultrasonic ionization, which is an additional level of protection.
The secretary of the Association of Pharmacy and Medical Activity of PKS Mirjana Vučićević, during the tour of the production capacities, stated that the partnership between Galenika farmacije and Koloida is an excellent model for the creation of innovative national products, competitive in the international market .
– I hope this cooperation is a great example for others to connect, exchange ideas, develop solutions and create quality products. The Serbian Chamber of Commerce will always be an institutional support for the national processing industry and its efforts to create new values, he said.
The director of Galenika Farmacije, Ljiljana Topic, said that the company produces protective equipment, sterile and non-sterile products and has more than 50 different medical devices registered in the registry kept by the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices. “On the Petrovac side, we are closely specialized in the production of protective masks for children and adults. We have recognized the strategic partner company Koloid and have started the first step in the production of colloidal silver children’s masks, and the first quantities are they will deliver October 10, “he said.
Galenika Farmacija is manufacturing 200,000 protective masks for children in a new plant in Petrovac na Mlavi and, after that, will start the production of adult masks with silver ions.
This company produces sterile and non-sterile compresses, plasters, plasters, bandages and sanitary supplies, car pharmacies, lockers and first aid kits.
Koloida CEO Božidar Backović said the company has 14 years of experience in the production and development of products based on silver ions.
– Our best experts, now in collaboration with the Galenika Pharmacija company, have managed to integrate ionic silver and zeolite ultrasound pathways, which is the ultrasonic ionization technology, and maintain that silver for a long time in the mask tissue. That way, we provide additional antimicrobial protection and extend the life of the mask, he said.
He added that this cooperation in the production of the silver protective mask was the beginning and thanked PKS, who recognized the potentials of Colloid.
– The mask and the technology that we managed to develop together with Galenika Pharmacy is something that has already been recognized in the market in the region and there is interest and demand from companies from Greece, Macedonia and Albania. We look forward to long-term and successful cooperation, he said. In cooperation with the Novak Djokovic Foundation, the first series of 100,000-piece silver children’s masks will be donated to first-graders in primary schools across Serbia.
