The European Commission report on Serbia’s progress, which was approved today in Brussels, mentions, among other things, the case of the troublemaker Aleksandar Obradović from Krušik.
The report indicates that the protection of whistleblowers in cases of high corruption must be guaranteed, in order to strengthen trust in the institutions.
Whistleblower reports, such as the Krusik case, must be investigated in accordance with the law, the EC report adds.
Let us remind you, Aleksandar Obradović He was arrested last September for providing documentation to the media indicating that some private companies had a privileged position in “Krušik”, for which he was suspended from work, spent three weeks in prison and two months under house arrest. Due to public pressure, he was released in late December, and the High Tech Crimes Prosecutor’s Office has yet to file a charge.
The EC report adopted today states that Serbia did not do that no progress in electoral processes or the judicial system, while moderate progress has been made in the fight against corruption (structural reforms and inter-institutional cooperation) and the reform of the public administration.
