Late last week, Sotirovski told our newspaper that he declined Milenković-Kerković’s public invitation to participate in a television duel, which would discuss the cutting down of cedars and other trees on Nemanjić Boulevard, as well as the enormous air pollution and the public health, because Milenković-Kerkovic “represents a party that did not pass the census in previous elections.”
He said that by accepting the duel “as a legitimate representative of the SNS, which now received 16,000 more votes in Nis than in previous elections, he would betray the citizenry.”
The mayor accused Milenković-Kerković of misleading the citizens of Niš by telling them that the citizens chose Dveri as their representatives, that he was involved in politics and wanted to make a name for himself in politics on behalf of someone else and with quasi-ideas. Sotirovski and city officials had not previously responded to Dveri’s request for the urgent adoption of the Cadastre of Public Green Areas in Regular Maintenance and Vegetation between City Blocks, whose deadline was 2017, and the introduction of the institution of the green manager. In response, Dveri in Nis announced that he would organize a public discussion and round table on the basic topic of environmental protection, air pollution and the state of public health in Nis.
