The coronavirus was confirmed in 11 other people from Valjevo, according to data published by the Institute of Public Health. Each case was registered in Mionica and Lajkovac.
In Valjevo, there has been an increase in the number of coronavirus patients since the middle of last week. Only from last Wednesday until 2 p.m. yesterday, the coronavirus was confirmed in 72 people, and in that period, the number of new positives was in double digits almost every day.
The number of patients in hospital treatment is also increasing, where there are now nine people from Valjevo being treated due to the consequences of the corona virus, while 77 people from Valjevo are in home isolation.
– The sudden increase in the number of patients in the second week of October is due to the grouping of patients in connection with a private celebration with about 60 guests organized in a facility under health supervision in the vicinity of Valjevo. So far, the infection has been verified in several people who participated or their contacts, 10 people from Valjevo, one from Mionica and five relatives of close relatives from Lajkovac. The disease is registered in members of several families, of unknown origin. In two families, the members of the patients are people employed in health care. The illness of three members of the family is related to their stay abroad. The illness of four members of the other family is related to contact with a proven source of infection, a relative from Belgrade. The illness of five members of a family in Valjevo is related to their stay in a restaurant. There are individual cases related to exhibition gatherings with a greater number of people, family celebrations, contact with people from abroad – this is confirmed by the press release of the Institute of Public Health, which was issued on the occasion of the abrupt jump in the number of new positives .
Since the start of the pandemic, 32 people have died from the effects of the coronavirus in Valjevo and six in Mionica. Five people died in Ljig, as well as Lajkovac, and four people died as a result of the corona virus in Osecina and Uba.
