Although difficult and grim professionally, this was Jelena Zorić’s year. Nakon NUNS-a, me Serbian Philanthropic Forum and the Association of Journalists of Serbia recognized him with the “Aleksandar Tijanic” award for combativeness in journalistic expression and the original journalistic movement during the July protests in front of the National Assembly.
“Jelena Zorić showed how this is done without prejudice and without favoring the participants, no matter who they were and no matter what political options they belonged to,” said Vladimir Radomirović, president of the UNS.
As Radomirović said, Zorić confirmed Tijanić’s words that without integrity there is no person, and without a person of civic value and responsibility, without whom there is no democracy.

Upon receiving the award, he recalled Aleksandar Tijanić’s statement that “journalism is a layer of slaves”, adding that together with his colleagues he fights every day not to be slaves, concluding that difficult times are for everyone in the profession.
“Some fear today and suffer being called foreign mercenaries and domestic traitors in, say, the highest representative body of the country, in the Assembly. Others fear tomorrow and the change of government and wonder what will happen to their careers, their existence. it’s not normal either, “said Jelena Zorić.
That is why, he says, he dedicates the award to all Serbian journalists, cameramen and photojournalists.
