In addition to the 2016 “Mercedes” C-class he drives, there are five more veterans in the spacious yard of his parents’ home.

WHEN he finishes his daily chores, he rests with his “pets.” Licka adjusts them. Some are registered and ready to go to vintage car shows, in which Pavlović regularly participates, because he is also the president of the Paraćin Auto-Moto Club “Pomoravlje”.

– I’ve never been without a “Mercedes”, most of the time I had an E-Class in my fleet. My cars are relatively young, even occasionally those generations are seen on the roads, except this one from 1965. That is my “reponja”, “Mercedes 110”. I’ve been fixing it for six years, and bought it from the Army in a dilapidated condition and has its own inventory number. I paid him 2,000 euros and so far it has cost me 14,000. I completely fixed it, from the body to the engine. Almost all parts are original. It remains for me to make it brilliant, to be able to register it – says our interlocutor.

He says that the “Mercedes” of the new generations are plastic, made only for profit, that’s why he likes the old classes.

– Serious breakdowns in old vehicles occurred only after 800,000 kilometers. Now change the dampers to 100,000. Everything has lost quality, even “Mercedes”, says Jevta.

Apart from the five veterans he has, Pavlović’s goal is to get the four generations of the E and S classes. From the first, he is missing a vehicle, so he has all the “Mercedes” from the sixties to the nineties. Last century. He wants the same with the S-Class. He bought a “Mercedes 124” seven or eight years ago at the Canadian Embassy in Belgrade. He is the youngest, so he is constantly searching for the oldest.

Restoring old cars, and those with a production date of at least 30 years, is a very expensive hobby. Especially the old “Mercedes”. But every hobby has its price, and this one too. And the desire of the businessman from Paracin is, once he retires and retires to his Mutnica, “reponjom” since 65. Every weekend he comes to Paracin for a coffee.
