BELGRADE – Finance Minister Siniša Mali declared today that on Monday, December 14, the payment of another minimum wage will begin in the amount of 30,367 dinars for employees in tourism and catering, and that is the amount of two billion dinars that will be they will pay from the budget of the republic.
“This is sector support for 72,500 employees in travel agencies, car rental companies, restaurant services and hotels. This additional financial support will mean employees in this sector who are most threatened by the corona virus pandemic,” Mali said announced the Ministry. Finance.
He recalled that this is the sixth minimum that employees of these sectors receive in Serbia, which means that the state covered half of the business year in these companies with the payment of wages.
The minister has indicated that the Tax Administration published a list of 12,037 companies that exercised the right to state aid. The list includes companies in the catering and tourism sector.
“The money will be paid to companies in special-purpose accounts opened by the Treasury Administration for that purpose, emphasized the Mali minister, adding that the payment procedure has been simplified, so that only a visit from an authorized person is needed. from the economic entity to the competent branch of the Finance Administration “.
The counselor recalled that previously subsidies were paid to hoteliers amounting to 350 euros per single bed and 150 euros per accommodation unit, for which 1,200 million dinars were reserved.
Mali also said that the budget for next year foresees 500 million dinars for the distribution of vouchers for subsidized holidays in Serbia, and then it is quite clear that the state systematically and systematically covers sectoral problems in this area.
The minister recalled that the total state allocations since the beginning of the year to support the economy will reach six billion euros, that is, about 700 billion dinars, and that this is one of the largest support packages of the region.
“At the end of next week we will pay 5,000 dinars to pensioners, which clearly shows that our state is liquid at the end of the year, when many countries report depleted resources, and that public finances are under control,” Mali said.
The finance minister said tourism in Serbia was the hardest hit by the corona virus pandemic.
“But despite all the misfortunes that have befallen us, we have found potential in domestic tourism and the country’s tourist destinations, which have experienced a real boom,” Mali said.
According to him, despite all the turmoil both the world and the Serbian economy have suffered, Serbia will manage to achieve one of the best results in Europe when it comes to economics and record a drop in GDP of just one or even less. one’s. percent.
“In the conditions of economic and health crisis of this scale, that is a great result,” concluded Mali and provided assurances that the conditions will be created for even higher and faster economic growth, the preservation of jobs and the level life of the population.
