Today, the mayor of Novi Sad, Miloš Vučević, announced the possibility of tightening measures to prevent the spread of the corona virus in the territory of that city.

– I believe that on Thursday we will have a new representative sample of the situation and the possibility of possibly adopting further measures. We do not want to ask for tougher measures, we do not run away from them, we are not afraid to apply them, but it is really an extreme measure – Vučević told TV Prva.

He affirmed that the figures are such that they do not give us the right to relax and carry serious concerns.

– I think that today we will have an almost identical number, perhaps with a slight increase compared to yesterday’s number – said Vučević.

It says that the current measures have the primary objective of acting preventively, and affirms that gatherings are prohibited until November 30, except for cultural events with a limited number of visitors.

Vučević points out that he is also responsible for the economy.

– But if we choose between health and the economy, we will choose health, there is no dilemma – said Vučević about the possibility of introducing stricter measures.

When asked about the meetings in the cafes, Vučević said that more than 100 misdemeanors had been filed and that a possible increase in the fine was announced.

– The question arises, if we shorten the working hours of the catering facilities and what we will do with private parties, what will we do when people rent a house in Fruška gora for parties – says Vučević.

He stated that every day there is an increase in the number of infected, but that it is not dramatic that we have to interrupt school classes, because the situation in schools is under control.
