Kosovo Foreign and Diaspora Minister Meljiza Haradinaj Stubla said that the ministry she heads strongly condemns the detention of Kosovar citizen Agim Gjocaj by Serbia during the transit trip through Serbian territory.
“MIP demands from Serbia the urgent release of Agim Gjocaj, who was unjustly detained. We also note that the accusations against him are unfounded, intentional and politically motivated,” he wrote on Facebook.
Minister Haradinaj-Stublla called on Brussels and the countries of the Big Five to ask the Belgrade authorities to stop such practices.
The old policy of Serbia, led by (Serbian President Aleksandar) Vucic, continues to contradict all European values and struggles to make statements to the international community about the supposed “commitment and readiness” for the process of total normalization of relations with Kosovo and the good neighborhood in region. “These actions are a continuation of Serbian efforts to sabotage the Republic of Kosovo by issuing false arrest warrants and manipulating its communication channels through continued racist propaganda,” said the Kosovo Foreign Minister.
