Dr. Kisić: I want to show with a personal example how important the vaccine is.
The Minister of Labor, Veterans Affairs and Social Affairs, Darija Kisić Tepavčević, told RTS this morning that she is extremely proud that Serbia has managed to be among the first to acquire the vaccine and that above all I want to show you with a personal example how important it is.
– There is a coordinating body that deals with this issue and based on the quantities available and the risks in the population, an immunization plan is being drawn up. The elderly population is the most threatened – said the minister.
Darija Kisić Tepavčević says that we are familiar with all aspects of the vaccine and that the health workers who will administer the vaccine have been trained for that.
– The vaccine should and can be a light at the end of this long tunnel – said Minister Kisić Tepavčević of RTS.
Who gets the vaccine first?
– Vaccination against the crown begins on Thursday in nursing homes, they are the most threatened category, that’s why we start from them – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said yesterday, adding that the vaccine is a salvation for humanity.
The first citizens of Serbia will receive the “Pfizer” vaccine today at 11 am.
As President Vučić said yesterday, the vaccines were acquired bilaterally, independently, and Serbia is probably the only country outside the EU, in this part, that managed to acquire some vaccines.
– We’re leaving now. ALIMS received samples of other vaccines, they will continue to do their job and then we expect larger quantities. The vaccine is salvation, the vaccine saved humanity, so some other diseases would not be eradicated without it – said Vučić.
What will mass vaccination be like?
The president of the National Coordination Team for Immunization against Kovid-19, Mirsad Djerlek, said that home users are a priority for vaccination in order to reduce pressure on hospitals, where severe cases are more common among the elderly population. .
He said that the skeleton of the adopted immunization plan, which was developed and proposed by the “Trampoline” Institute, will not change, but that it is difficult to predict what awaits us.
– The plan is dynamic and will be elastic, so we can change some plans and priorities, depending on the time and the number of vaccines – said Djerlek.
He stated that in the first phase of the vaccine, in addition to users of nursing homes, health workers will also receive it. According to him, vaccines will go first to larger homes where a greater number of people infected with the corona virus can occur.
He also stressed that additional training is necessary for medical workers who will administer the vaccine.
– There are five doses in a bottle, it is necessary to professionally dissolve the doses in a syringe of 1.8 milliliters of physiological solution, it should be consumed in the next six hours, and when the dose comes out with -70 degrees, it should be consumed in five days – explained. is Djerlek.
He added that a contract was signed with “Pfizer” for 1.8 million doses, which will arrive on a quarterly basis.
