Academician Matija Bećković confirmed to Tanjug that he is on a plane that has already flown to Podgorica, where a liturgy is taking place due to the death of the Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Amfilohije Litoral, and in which he is expected to be one of the speakers.
According to him, the reason for the delay in the departure of the plane that was supposed to take off at 9.40 this morning is not clear.
– I am waiting for the plane to take off, I hope to be able to speak, as planned, at the funeral of Blessed Metropolitan Amfilohije. I don’t know why we are waiting, there were delays, but they didn’t tell us anything – Bećković stated briefly.
Historian Aleksandar Raković stated on TV Pink today that Matija Bećković, who is scheduled to speak at the Metropolitan’s funeral, did not travel to Podgorica. Raković expressed his suspicion that it was a deliberate obstruction, recalling that two years ago, Bećković, the historians Čedomir Antic and he (Raković) were prohibited from entering Montenegro.
