The case of a family crime in Paracin has upset the public and, sadly, there have been dozens of similar murders in Serbia in recent years.
“I killed my father, I stabbed him in the heart,” he said four days ago at the hearing of MM (17) in Paracin, suspected of having killed his father Boban (42) by stabbing him in the heart. The long-standing animosity between father and son culminated on September 2, and the teenager previously left the status on the social network: “I am a son when the father did not want to.”
Four profiles
Unfortunately, the case of the Paracin minor is not the only one, and the public has witnessed numerous cruel family crimes in recent years, in which fathers and mothers suffered at the hands of their sons or daughters.
Lawyer Nebojsa Milosavljevic says there are four different profiles of people who decide to commit one of the most serious crimes, writes “Kurir”.
– A profile is people who have mental problems and at one point they get a fixed idea from which they cannot escape, and many times they do not give up until they realize it. The second profile is very common and they are affective personalities, who easily lose control of themselves and go crazy, followed by a brutal crime – says Milosavljevic and continues:
– Alcohol and drugs also affect the consciousness of potential killers, and when they use opiates, they change their perception and lose their sanity. There are also situations where the victims somehow provoke the crime.
He explains that investigators often decipher the character of the murderer from the victims.
– The victim is studied, how he treated the suspected child, what was his relationship and in this way the murderer is analyzed.
Psychologists and psychiatrists play a crucial role in uncovering the motives for such crimes, Milosavljevic explains.
Vesna Tomić, a social psychologist, has a similar opinion. She says that the murders of the parents are due to various disorders.
– In some cases, children commit a crime by disturbing family relationships, from which anything can result. We also have a mental disorder in a child, who eventually becomes a murderer. That mental disorder is sometimes visible and sometimes absolutely not, he says.
Black chronology
- May 30, 2020 – Dr. Zoran Kamatović (48) shot his father Ljubodrag (77) and his mother Gordana (66) with a hunting rifle after an argument in Sremski Karlovci.
- October 1, 2019 – Petar Tomić (21) slit his mother Tatjana (56) in the Kaludjerica neighborhood of Belgrade, allegedly “because he couldn’t get over the fact that his mother cheated on his father.”
- October 1, 2019: Marko Puzić (28) from Bogatić beat his mother Desanka (63) and grandmother Verica (86) to death due to a nervous disorder.
- July 15, 2019 – Dejan Šatri (36) killed his father Agim (64) in the Velika Moštanica neighborhood of Belgrade, after an argument over a cafe.
Lawyer Milosavljevic: Very often, children kill
Nebojsa Milosavljevic points out that sons more often kill fathers and mothers, and that daughters more often kill mothers.
– It happens that a brother kills his sister and there are usually economic, property or money reasons. It also happens that a brother kills a brother, however, there is almost no case in which a sister kills a brother – she says.
Psychiatrist: socially vulnerable and neglected
Psychiatrist Ivica Mladenović explains that such tragedies not only affect families in social danger and families in which parents oppressed and neglected their children.
– We have more and more cases in which parents who have provided their children with everything in life lose their lives. When the father and mother provide the child with a comfortable life, he somehow falls in love with himself and becomes a narcissist, explains the psychiatrist.
