Aleksandar R. (49) from Smederevo was brutally murdered on the night of Thursday to Friday in the parking lot in front of his restaurant “Zlatna potkovica”, and the police arrested Nenad D. (57) on suspicion of committing a crime.
The murder was preceded by an argument in a restaurant about music, with ND first hitting Aleksandra with a shovel and ax, then even hitting him twice with a “Mercedes” car.
N. R, the son of the murdered restaurant owner, told “Kurir” that ND went to his restaurant with two friends on Thursday night.
– One of them said to the singer: “Tonight we will kill you or the boss” and after a while he left. After that, some guests got into a fight and their father kicked them out and closed the door. That probably annoyed ND and his friend and they started breaking glasses – says the young man, who was in the cafe on the fateful night.
As he says, their father kicked them out of the cafe.
– Then they started knocking on the door. I opened it and they called my father to come out – the surprised NR says and adds that my father left and stayed at the bar, not knowing what was happening in front.
Then, he says, he heard the singer’s cry.
– When I came out, I saw my father lying. His head was bloody. It was clear to me that they had both hit him. I was breathing with difficulty, so I didn’t even know what was happening – says Nikola.
He adds that he poured water on his father and called the police and the ambulance.
– During that time, Nenad and his friend were standing, without lifting a finger. Later I heard from eyewitnesses that when Dad came out, they both attacked him. They beat him up and Dad hit the windshield of Nenad’s “Mercedes” with a shovel. Then he deliberately added gas and ran over Dad once, then backtracked once more to finish him off, says the young man through tears.
He adds that as soon as he saw his father, he knew there was no salvation for him.
– I held her bloody head, she breathed into my arms. They also told me that their ribs were fully puffed.
Suspect Nenad D. was detained for up to 48 hours on suspicion of murder.
He felt a tragedy
Nikola explains that his father worked in a restaurant for ten years and that he joined him when he finished school as a waiter.
– That night, he told me to call a man to make us safe, as if he felt something bad. I called that man, but the day before yesterday he couldn’t work – says Nikola.
A powerful local man was arrested
Smederevo residents say the suspect Nenad D. is considered a powerful local man.
– Has its own gas station and saves some trucks. He has money, so he behaves arrogantly. He is considered a rich and powerful man, who does not give up on anything and thinks he can buy and fix everything with money – say the locals.
