BELGRADE – Israelis have opened cafes and shopping malls, Americans plan to bring audiences back to NBA games, many countries have facilitated the journey of the vaccinated … Could the vaccinated return to a more or less normal life in Serbia too? ?
It demands that revaccinated people have the opportunity to go back to having coffee, shopping, concerts or games, that they are rewarded for helping the state to get out of the pandemic as soon as possible and that they stop being hostages of those who do not want to. vaccinated.
In Israel, almost 4.5 million people were revaccinated, so the percentage of new infections fell below two percent, so the authorities decided on a new mitigation measures. Previously, they opened shopping centers, shops and museums for everyone, respecting epidemiological measures, while only those who have so-called green passports can still go to gyms, swimming pools, sporting and cultural events.
They are passes that are given only to those who have been revaccinated or have been crowned. Given that this method worked and that every day fewer and fewer new infected people are registered, the authorities allowed more people to attend sporting and cultural events, of course, with green passports. In addition, in recent days, images and recordings of youth parties have been arriving in cafes and clubs in this country, which, of course, again only those who have “green documents” attend.
If we consider that Israel is a country similar in size to Serbia, the question arises as to whether it is possible to provide benefits in our country to those who have been revaccinated or have been crowned. Especially since Serbia is not far behind in the procurement of vaccines in relation to the Middle Eastern country. By the way, so far more than 1.3 million people have been vaccinated in Serbia, while almost 900,000 citizens have received the second dose.
– Israel has reached almost 50 percent of the vaccination of the total part of the population and very soon it will be close to herd immunity. Those who have been vaccinated or have been through the disease can attend all social events in the next six months. And that seems to have motivated people to get vaccines en masse. That number of nearly 60 percent of those vaccinated, that is, 80 percent of those over 65, is extraordinary, said the director of the Institute for Molecular Genetics and Genetic Engineering, Dr. Jelena Begović.
There is a long list of benefits that may be available to vaccinated people. This simply would not be discrimination, because those who do not want to be vaccinated would not see their basic human rights jeopardized, but those who do get vaccinated during an emergency would simply be rewarded for their attitude.
If we were to follow the example of Israel, the vaccinated would be allowed to go to cafes, restaurants, shopping centers, sports matches could be played again in the presence of the public, but only the vaccinated and those who were lying in the stands could be found. 19, it would be similar with concerts …
– Also in our country, attendance at sporting and cultural events could be ensured by purchasing tickets electronically through the ticketing service, so that there is information at all times about who is present, where and what event. As for us, catering service providers, we are ready for all conditions, even green passports, just so we can work – said the president of the Association of Night Clubs and Bars Miša Relić for the newspaper adding “that It is not impossible for our country to follow the path of Israel. “
One of the biggest supporters of this idea is the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade, Goran Vesić.
– I really believe that those who have been revaccinated must have a certain type of benefits. This does not mean that those who have not been vaccinated are discriminated against, but rather that they accept different rules in society. For example, Greece will introduce that all revaccinated people can enter the country, and that those who are not vaccinated must take a PCR test if they want to enter the country. And we present it. This is not discrimination. And those who have life insurance will certainly have higher premiums if they are not vaccinated, because they are at higher risk. It’s similar for you with the elderly, the older you are, the higher your life insurance premiums, Vesić emphasizes.
He announced that the city of Belgrade will organize two concerts in June, if the epidemiological situation allows it, and tickets will be free for those who have been revaccinated.
– We want to reward those who revaccinated and were responsible and protected themselves and their families. By reading the codes of the vaccination certificate, we will distribute free tickets to those revaccinated, whose identification cards we will read at the tickets – explained Vesić.
Opinion on this issue was recently issued by the Minister of Health, Dr. Zlatibor Lončar.
– There is no reason to punish people who respected the measures, were vaccinated and now have antibodies. Those who did everything could not be in the same basket as those who do not believe in the coronavirus, who work on their own. Those who have complied with all the measures should benefit from it. It is a sensitive issue, there is controversy in the world, but if these people are not a risk, why punish them? We have to find a way to meet those people – Lončar said.
The epidemiologist Radovan Čekanec points out that the introduction of benefits for the vaccinated would increase the motivation of citizens.
– It would certainly speed up vaccination, but there is no doubt that there would be those who would say that it is discrimination and violation of human rights. We have been a divided society for a long time, and that can be seen now in the example of vaccination. The vaccine is the only salvation, I think that with the vaccination in June, we can get out that we no longer have such waves – thinks Dr. Čekanac.
The director of the KCS Infectious Diseases Clinic, Dr. Goran Stevanović, has a similar opinion.
– In the next period, vaccinated people should be able to do something that unvaccinated people will not be able to do. It will not be discrimination, but the privilege of those responsible towards themselves and society – said Dr. Stevanović.
Prime Minister Ana Brnabić makes no secret that they are trying to balance.
– We are trying to balance, we still cannot introduce these types of measures until we provide as many vaccines and until we know that everyone who wants is vaccinated. There are people who cannot get vaccinated for health reasons, Ana Brnabić said recently.
Not a few draw attention to the fact that control could be a big problem, since, for example, vaccination certificates must be reviewed in all cafes, in all large or small stadiums …
However, the idea is widely circulating in the public that so-called green passports could be checked at the same entrances to catering facilities, and that inspection services also verify compliance with that rule. The inspection services indicate that they do not have the authority or the information that green passports for revaccination and those that have passed through them could soon be introduced in our country.
The return of the vaccinated to NBA games
The famous NBA club Miami Heath showed what benefits the vaccinated could have, announcing that fans who received the vaccine could soon attend this team’s games. That is, Miami announced that it plans to open two sectors in the room only for revaccinated fans as of April 1, and thus become the first NBA club to do so. Fans will be required to continue wearing masks in the room, regardless of whether they have been revaccinated, but physical distance measurements will be somewhat more relaxed.
