Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić declared today that there is no doubt that we will face increasingly difficult pressures and that we find ourselves in a difficult situation. He reacted to the new plan for Kosovo, which was debated yesterday in the US House of Representatives and in which Madeleine Albright, Eliot Engel and Daniel Server participated.
– I think it is now clear that you were right when I said that the views of the Biden administration are not in favor of Serbia. I hope the administration has a slightly different attitude and policy than what they presented in the House of Representatives of Congress. We have to be careful and know that these are important people and that we have to exhaust ourselves in a serious way – said Vučić.
He recalled the statement by the EP rapporteur for Kosovo, Viola von Cramon, that the remaining five members of the EU will be asked to recognize Kosovo’s independence.
– We will face the greatest possible pressure to recognize that Kosovo is in a difficult position, I have never hidden it. Many in Serbia are happy about that, thinking that it is directed against me, it is directed against everyone in Serbia. Everyone would like Serbia to be insignificantly weak again, as it was in previous years …
He added that he would not speak ill of Angela or Albright.
– I expect great pressure when it comes to the Republika Srpska and when it comes to Kosovo. We will fight for the truth, we will tell people the truth. I’m not going to say anything bad about those people, or Albrighton, or Engel, or Server, who talk about me. It is our job to protect our interests and be polite – he said and added:
– If I, as President of the Republic and without the consent of the government, signed the Kosovo independence act, I would receive the Nobel Peace Prize and I would be the greatest democrat in this part of the world. To say that the Republika Srpska does not have any support from Serbia and that it will not receive any help, only then would I be a democrat and become beautiful.
He also claimed that Serbia adapts to many in the region only when it is weak and humiliated.
– That is why today we take care that no one in the region feels threatened by Serbia. We want to be partisans, but we don’t want to be accused of changing our history, of being accused of occupiers in Montenegro, of Serbian villains, of not having Jasenovac. We will also pay tribute to all the victims, because we know that we are not free from sin either.
Vučić, by the way, met today with government ministers and directors of public companies.
The most important strategic projects in various fields were discussed at the meeting.

Vučić also referred to the latent conflict between Energy Minister Zorana Mijajlović and the director of “Srbijagas” Dušan Bajatović:
Regarding the relationship between Zorana Mihajlović and Dušan Bajatović, I invited them both to a meeting and asked the directors to have respect for the minister, there does not have to be love, but there must be respect and the relationship works normally, if not, we will move on to other measures – he said.

– I think that’s my highest compliment. I did not distribute the decorations according to the party line. I did not ask the people of Zajecar from the SNS what they think of the man who was a member of the PLD, Cedomir Jovanovic, I did not ask him about his bad political activities. I was guided by his work. I am proud that this also shows the difference between us and those who are our political opponents.
