I DON’T KNOW IF I’M CONTAGIOUS! After 16 days of a positive test for kovid, the Belgrade woman was tested again, with no antibodies and still infected.

This is exactly what happened to Dragana I. (33) from Belgrade. He was diagnosed with a corona antigen test on November 17 at the Kovid clinic. He had a fever for seven days, he was fainting … Only after he was diagnosed with the virus did he start coughing dryly, his back hurt, he lost smell and taste.

– When I called Kovid’s clinic after three days of fever, the doctor thought it was a seasonal virus. Respiratory infection. However, they did a blood test and an antigen test. Turns out I’m sure of Kovid. I had a temperature of up to 37.5 for 7 days … Then it disappeared, so it came back to me after a few days – says Dragana.

Since, in addition to the temperature, he also began to cough, he was instructed to search his lungs.

– Shadows were seen in the video, but nothing serious, but they told me that if the condition got complicated, I should go to the doctor again. Then, exactly on the 16th, I did a serological test. And it surprised me. He was convinced that he no longer had a crown, but rather antibodies. The opposite happened. I have no antibodies and I still have a crown. Now I don’t know if I’m contagious? she wonders.

That is, Dragana performed a serological test on December 2. He showed that he is positive for IgM antibodies, which show the presence of the virus, while he is negative for IgG antibodies, which say that he has acquired immunity.

Professor Delic: It’s not contagious.

Prof. Dr. Dragan Delic, an infectious disease specialist and former director of the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Clinic of the Serbian Clinical Center, says that Dragana is no longer contagious.

– The fact that it is still positive should not worry you. After 7 to 10 days, infectivity is lost. Infectivity is lost. CRP can be positive for even 40 days, this has been done in some large studies. But those people are not contagious. These are only parts of the virus that can be found that are not infectious. The patient is infectious 2 to 3 days before the onset of the illness and 7 to 10 days after the onset of the illness. That is the moment of its contagion – explains prof. Dr. Delic.

Remember that the accuracy of serological tests is 60 percent.

– IgG antibodies usually appear after 10 to 14 days from the onset of the disease. Some people can develop antibodies later. As long as the serological test is accurate, maybe you will get them later, says prof. Dr. Delic added that immunity is not only related to human material but also to cellular material, which is not being examined.

Concluding that such cases do occur and that the control tests have been canceled, he says that it was understood that nothing was gained, except that money was wasted.

– She suffered from an infection and I’m sure she will have immunity – said prof. Dr. Delic.

No infectivity after 14 days

The director of the Serbian Institute of Public Health “Dr. Milan Jovanovic Batut”, Verica Jovanovic, said last week that it is not necessary to re-test for the presence of coronavirus in people who have completed treatment, because according to professional literature, there is no infectivity after 14 days.

– It involves the application of protocols established by the WHO and the European Center for Disease Control and the Center for Disease Control. We have been applying it since August. After 14 days at home, the doctor’s conclusion ended the infectivity of the one who tested positive for the crown. When it comes to hospital treatment, the doctor decides how long the patient will stay at home, but there is no need to retest. It is only necessary to follow the symptoms, contact the kovid clinic if someone in the area has kovid 19 – Jovanović pointed out.
