Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić claimed that he saw the threats directed at the President of the Democratic Alliance of Croats in Vojvodina, Tomislav Žigmanov, on social media, but did not understand the official protest note on that occasion.

“I understand different points of view and that we should talk about the Bunjevac language, but I do not understand the note of protest against the threats on social media,” Vucic said in an interview for Pink Television.

He claimed that “raising tensions is in the interest of some” and that Zagreb “did not even ask if an investigation had been launched” before sending the note.

Vučić also said that Zigman was not threatened by a person of Serbian nationality.

“It is our job to do everything possible to make the Croats in Serbia feel good, to help as much as we can and to condemn any threats,” said the President of Serbia.

According to him, negative messages from Croatia became more frequent after the broadcast of the film “Dara iz Jasenovac”.
