– I do not expect a catastrophe, it can hardly be worse than at the beginning – he said to TV Prva.

He also said that it is surprising that there are very few cases of influenza this year, meaning that the percentage of cases of seasonal influenza dropped by 96 percent.

“Sometimes the flu turns into a corona virus and people move less,” Nestorović said.

Nestorović reiterated that children can hardly get sick from the corona virus, especially those under 12 years of age.

“Young people can get sick, it is known, but the risk of complications from the disease is lower, they can have pneumonia, but not some thrombosis,” he said.

Speaking about herd immunity, he said that it certainly exists, even in a cross-over with other corona viruses.

– Little is said about Sweden, they made some mistakes, admitted the chief epidemiologist. They did not guard the nursing homes. However, now they have almost no epidemic, they have achieved herd immunity – said Dr. Nestorović.
