I despise the shameful act that happened in Novi Sad, the graffiti of hate has been removed!

As both a mayor and a citizen of Serbia, I strongly condemn the terribly disturbing message written on a billboard in the city, which does not correspond to Novi Sad or Serbia, a country whose people suffered so much in WWII, said the mayor of Novi Sad Milos Vucevic.

– The city government immediately removed these shameful words because we do not want and will not allow irresponsible individuals to destroy what we have nurtured in our city for centuries: respect for diversity. I remind you that Serbs, along with Jews and Roma, are the people who have suffered the most from racist ideas and against civilization in the recent past. I assure you that any hateful message like this graffiti will be erased and the perpetrators will be punished – said Vučević.
