Isidora’s husband, Borislav Čičovački, also gave a speech at the funeral. He found the strength to say a few words and added at the end:

“I can’t wait to hug you when we meet again.”

After his speech, four women stood in front of the coffin and sang while Sudjic was with them. When the music stopped, Isidora was buried.

The last greeting to one of the most important Serbian composers was attended by SANU President Vladimir S. Kostić, politician Zoran Lutovac, actor Tihomir Stanić, Kokan Mladenović, Svetozar Cvetković and writer Ljubivoje Ršumović.

Zebeljan was born in Belgrade in 1967. He has received important recognitions for his work in the country and abroad, including the Mokranjac Prize. She was elected a member of SANU in 2006 and a member of the World Academy of Arts and Sciences in 2012. Her music has been performed in Great Britain, Italy, Holland, Austria, France, the United States …

The Berlin magazine “Der Freitag” chose Isidora Zebeljan as one of the ten most promising public figures in the world for 2009. As the first public figure of the Balkans in 2014, he received the award of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean countries, for achievements in the field of culture and art. Isidora Zebeljan is also one of the most prominent Serbian composers of music for theater and cinema. He has composed music for more than 30 theater performances in Serbia, Norway, Croatia and Montenegro. He received the Sterija Award three times for his work in this field.
