I came to Serbia in October thinking that I was going to SIBERIA, and now I BUY AN APARTMENT IN THE CENTER OF BELGRADE and I fled New York: AMERICANS IMMIGRATED MIGRATORY TO SERBIA, here’s why

For some time now, the American media has been broadcasting the impressions of Americans on Belgrade and Serbia. Serbia has now become a very common option for people eager to travel due to the small number of restrictions when entering the country. For this reason, foreigners who want to travel to a place that is exotic to them, come to Belgrade more and more frequently. Not only that, a good part of them plan to stay in Serbia.

One of them is Katka Lapelosova (33), who visited Belgrade for the first time in October.

– I came out of pure despair, only to escape closed New York. However, I ended up buying an apartment here. I paid him $ 55,000, a one-bedroom apartment downtown. My friends and my family don’t even know where Serbia is. They thought I was going to Siberia. Those who have heard of Serbia have old news, for example, they believe that Milosevic is still alive, he says for the “New York Post”.

– I was something similar, but I realized that this is a sophisticated country. People are educated and cultured. Not everything is honey and milk, for example, the pollution is horrible, the air is horrible – he says.

The New York Post also brings the story of Jennifer (36), who decided to celebrate her birthday with a three-day trip to Belgrade.

– The four-star hotel cost only $ 50 a night. Everything is cheap, the men are handsome and tall. I’m going back in the spring to find a husband – she says.

Davis Richardson, 27, is another American enthusiastic about Belgrade.

– I just wanted to get out of New York a couple of months ago, but I put down roots here. I pay half the rent I would pay in New York here, and I have a huge apartment downtown. So for less money, I get a lot more. The city is fantastic and you can see a lot of things. If the United States continues like this, I think more and more Americans will come here – he says, adding that he feels “like there is no pandemic” in Belgrade, and that there is no pressure like he feels in America.
