This is the first thing that Boro Perać, the father of Bojan Perać (32), the GSP bus driver, told us today, who died in a horrible traffic accident at the corner of Cara Dušana and Tršćanska streets in Zemun.
Adam Rakočević (22), who was found to have caused the accident, was sentenced in autumn before the Belgrade High Court to 30 months in prison for a serious act against road safety.
On the anniversary of Bojan’s death, on February 12, Boro Perać today paid his respects to his son at the scene of the accident, but also publicly protested against, as he himself puts it, the shameful verdict. In the heart of candles and flowers, at four in the morning, when her son was murdered, she posted a photo of herself with the message “Justice for Bojan.” He stayed in that place all day.
We recommend
– Rakočević was sentenced to the minimum sentence and released until the verdict is final – Perać tells us.
– Our family was destroyed and now walks freely. Bojan’s mother and brother, who live 50 meters from the scene of the accident, no longer go through that crossing due to pain. My father died a few months after the Bojana grief. I trusted the court, but it did not do justice. They did not accept our arguments to prove what really happened.
Circumstances
RAKOČEVIĆ had many aggravating circumstances, which the judge obviously did not take into account, as he imposed a minimal penalty on him – Boro Perać tells us. – He has already been convicted of illegal possession of weapons. He was serving that sentence in the prison house from which he escaped when he caused the accident.
He was driving much faster than the allowed speed, he went through a red light at the intersection, he had marijuana traces in his blood at the time of the accident.
Perac tells us to trust the Court of Appeals where the case is located, after the appeal of the Superior Prosecutor’s Office.
The accident occurred when Rakočević rushed through a red light at an intersection and collided with a bus on line “45”, which then turned left and collided directly with bus number “15”, which was coming in the direction opposite and was behind the wheel. It was Bojan Perać.
