– Without a doubt, performing my previous functions helped me to adapt quickly to my new job. So there will be no idleness in the work of the ministry. On the contrary, in parallel with the monitoring of ongoing projects, we are also preparing new ones. The determination of President Vučić and Prime Minister Ana Brnabić to make Serbia a better, more successful and ecologically healthier environment for the development of society and the economy has been recognized beyond the borders of our country. Are you thinking of starting to drive an electric car now?
– In the near future, I will definitely go for such a car because Serbia must follow certain standards on its European path. The budget of our ministry for 2021 also allocates funds for subsidies for the purchase of electric and hybrid vehicles for natural and legal persons, and we are also working on the development of a network of electric chargers on the roads of Serbia.
What did you do first when you took over the cabinet?
– We have implemented a more efficient work system and established communication with representatives of local governments in order to collect adequate data on environmental problems in local areas. So, for now, for example, the Stanjevina landfill, which was a hot problem in that area, was closed for an emergency procedure. The next step is the construction of a transfer station in Nova Varoš, as well as the expansion of the capacity of the Duboko regional landfill in Užice.
