HUSBANDS PUNCH AND KILL WOMEN FOR THE MOST BANAL REASONS

Conflicts between spouses in Serbia, which are sadly not uncommon today, are often preceded by seemingly bizarre fights. Although they seem completely banal, the triggers that lead to domestic violence can sometimes lead to serious injuries, but also a tragic outcome.

An example of this occurred on Sunday, August 30, when Branislava F., 42, was arrested on suspicion of stabbing her unmarried husband Nenad M., 32, after a brief discussion.

As “Blic” has already written, the stabbing of Nenad M. was preceded by a brief dispute between the single spouses over who would feed the cat.

– The two drank in a tavern in Velika Plana and so drunk they went home where they continued drinking. Shortly after, they fought to feed the cat, so that Nenad M. would take a kitchen knife and attack the woman with it – said a source from “Blic” who knew the case.

However, Branislava managed to steal her knife and her husband went out onto the street and started running away. Branislava caught up with him on the street where he stabbed him in the arm and then in the thigh.

He refused help and was released shortly after. The suspect Branislava was detained for up to 48 hours and given urgent measures to prevent domestic violence: expulsion from the house and a ban on approaching and communicating with the victim.

“He did not turn on the light with one, but with two fingers.”

As they told “Blic” from the Autonomous Women’s Center (AWC), very often it happens that women have violent outbursts due to violence that they previously suffered from a man. So it actually represents your response to violence.

– You always have to check what happened before, if that man could have committed violence against a woman in previous days, months or even years – they said from the AJC for “Blic”.

The fact is that banal reasons cannot in any way be an excuse for violence against women. More precisely, there is no psychological diagnosis that can justify something like this.

– Violence is not a psychopathological problem in a man, but it arises from a man’s desire to have total control over a woman, in everything she does, it is not a diagnosis – they said from AŽC for “Blic”.

The patriarchal moment and the consequences of a conservative attitude are manifested, for example, when a man wants to control a woman in everything she does, for example, how she dresses, whom she smiles or calls in passing.

– Everything a woman does will certainly not work, it will never be good enough for that man, then try to control it by physically attacking her. Violence in this case is a mechanism on every action of a woman – they added from AŽC.

Some of the examples AWC employees found, after which the men beat their wives, were when she did not turn on the light with one, but with two fingers, someone was upset why the woman chose “just that” spoon . with which she makes coffee …

Certainly, the need for control manifests itself in all walks of life and the examples of economic violence are not new either.

– It happened that a man left his wife 200 dinars and asked her to prepare a lunch for him that would contain some ingredients that could not be bought with that amount of money. Failure to do so will result in violence. These are all examples of a syndrome called illogical wish-making, states the AWC.

She didn’t go shopping for Rizle when he asked

This year, in early February, the horrible domestic violence that took place in Italy was revealed, when a citizen of Serbia (19) brutally beat his wife (18) and mother of three children for two hours. He was arrested on December 17 last year in the Alexandria district and is charged with domestic violence, kidnapping and causing serious injury.

I mean, that day, he started hitting his wife, who was a year younger, at home, because she didn’t immediately go to buy rizle when he asked her to. When he asked his wife to go to the store and buy rizle, she told him that she would need time to change, since she was in a bathrobe. At that moment, he began to hit her with all his might.

At one point, the woman managed to escape and ran to the door of the first neighbors. A neighbor said the perpetrator’s wife ran to her door barefoot and in a dressing gown and was seen injured. Desperate, she asked to open the door for him, however, the neighbor could not react: a man from Serbia reached his wife, pulled her hair, kicked her and pushed her down the stairs. He then grabbed her by the hair again, dragged her into the car, and led her in an unknown direction. Neighbors immediately called the police and reported this case of violence.

The police officers who came to the scene discovered an extremely disturbing scene that showed all the horror that the woman experienced behind closed doors: in the apartment where this family lived, there were numerous traces of blood on the steps and walls. The police officers took statements from the neighbors, whose help probably saved the woman’s life.

Stab with knife for photos on the phone

Nislijka (52) stabbed him in the arm during an argument with her 59-year-old husband. The couple’s fight occurred on June 29 due to photos on a mobile phone. That is, her husband is engaged in hiking and was away from home for five days.

– When he got home, a discussion started with the woman about some photos from the mobile phone that she asked him to show her. During the fight, the woman began pulling knives out of the kitchen element and throwing them on the floor. However, she stabbed him in the fist with her left hand with a knife. After that, he left the apartment – says our source.

“She is to blame for everything that happened.”

The real drama took place this February in a family home in the village of Novi Sip near Kladovo, where Zoran S. (46) was arrested for attempted murder when he stabbed his wife DS (41) three times with a knife.

Fortunately, the woman managed to escape from the perpetrator and thus save herself from certain death. The reason for this domestic violence is unresolved marital relationships. Unofficially, the DS told inspectors that “she is to blame for what happened at her home that night, as well as that she will not prosecute her husband.”

Everything happened under cover of night, about two hours after midnight. Zoran came home that night in a visibly intoxicated state, when the argument between the spouses began. He allegedly told his wife that he was no longer making fun of him because the whole place was cheating on him because of him, to which she replied that he would do whatever she wanted and that he couldn’t do anything to her.

There was an argument, after which ZS at one point took a knife and began to stab his wife with it. All of this was seen by his youngest daughter going to sixth grade, while the older daughter was in the other room with his boyfriend. The guy somehow managed to restrain the crazy Zoran, after which he kicked him out of the house.

The drunks got into a fight and then they lied to the police

Two years ago, Snežana P. (37) tried to kill her unmarried husband Č. N. (37), in a house near Bečej. She stabbed him several times with a knife, after which the man sustained serious bodily injuries. The bloody confrontation was preceded by a fight between the spouses, and then a fight, while both were under the influence of alcohol.

– They lived together for only a few months, and that night they were both drunk. They even wanted to cover up that a crime had happened and they thought that something else had happened and that he had been stabbed in another way, and they only reported everything in the morning – says our source familiar with the case.

At that time, up to 2.4 per thousand blood alcohol was measured in Snezana.

Found dead, her husband had a helper

Furthermore, two years ago, Dragica Petkov (62) was found dead in the family home at 13 Branko Radičevića street in the Salajka neighborhood of Novi Sad, and was killed by her husband Jovica Petkov (47) with several stab wounds. However, two days later, a nineteen-year-old IB was arrested for aiding in this horrible crime.

Immediately after the crime, Jovica stopped by the first neighbor in the yard and told him to call the police, but did not explain why. According to the inspector, when the police arrived at the crime scene, Jovica was visibly intoxicated and resisted arrest, and the lifeless body of the unfortunate Dragica was found in a room in a pool of blood. As “Blic” learned from sources close to the investigation, both Jovan and the late Dragica have files with the police and judicial authorities, they have been known for some time for minor robberies and fraud.
