Belgrade police arrested Marko M. (40) and his wife Vesna M. (42) last night on suspicion that they robbed two people in the parking lot of a company in Batajnički Drum and a gas station in Novi Novi Sad Road and tried to rob another parked truck.
The suspects forcibly opened trucks and stole money, navigation, cell phones and other things from the cabin.
Inspectors from the Surcin police station arrested the suspects immediately after the latest robbery. The married couple was determined to be in action two nights ago and their targets were trucks parked in a company parking lot in Dobanovci and gas stations on the Belgrade-Sid highway at the junction to the airport.
Some of the stolen items were found.
Two revolvers and more than 130 bullets were found at the suspects’ home in Baric, as well as 16 tablets of “buprenorphine”, which is used to treat drug addiction.
The arrest was reported to the Third Basic Prosecutor’s Office, which classified the case as aggravated theft and ordered the criminal charge.
