The candidate for prime minister of Kosovo on behalf of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK), Enver Hoxhaj, said today that the issue of the Presevo valley will be part of the agreement on the normalization of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.
“There can be no peace agreement with Serbia without the participation (inclusion) of the Presevo Valley,” Hoxhaj told a press conference.
He announced that there will be two candidates from the Presevo Valley, that is, “East Kosovo” as he called it, on the DPK list for Kosovo Assembly deputies.
He also announced a special agency within the future prime minister’s cabinet, if he holds that position, which will deal with the issue of the Albanians of the Presevo Valley.
Speaking about the Albanians of the Presevo Valley, Hoxhaj announced that the problem of their citizenship would be solved, adding that the quota of students from that area to enroll in the University of Pristina would be increased.
He also announced the creation of a lifetime fund for those who want to return to the Presevo Valley, valued at five million euros a year.
