When asked if someone can retire without being employed by an employer or owning their own business, the answer is yes. If the person who has never worked for another or has had a registered activity pays contributions for at least 15 years, his pension can be inherited and can be family.

The condition is that, according to article 15 of the Disability Insurance and Pensions Act, you have been paying contributions for as many years as you need to obtain a pension. Minimum 15 years of regular internship payments.

This is exactly the case with one Nishlija who, because he inherited several rental properties that he could live on, paid himself his pension money.

However, the conviction that he could retire in such an easy way was shaken by a friend who explained that this independent payment of contributions refers only to filling the gaps in seniority, and is by no means valid for the entire working life.

When asked what the law says, that is, can you collect an old-age pension without having ever worked but contributing your whole life, or is there an obligation to be registered with the employer, in the Pension and Disability Fund, during at least a year? Insurance companies respond that if someone pays her own contributions in accordance with article 15 of the Pension and Disability Insurance Act and thus meets the conditions prescribed by law, she could exercise the right to a pension, writes Politika.

In accordance with the provisions of article 15 of the Pension and Disability Insurance Law, people who are not compulsorily insured under the terms of this law, that is, who are not beneficiaries of pension rights, may be included in the mandatory insurance and grant rights to this insurance under the conditions, scope and form established by this law.

When asked if that pension can be family tomorrow, the PIO says yes.

As in the case of beneficiaries of other insurance categories (salaried, self-employed, farmers), if all the legally prescribed conditions are met, in this case it is possible that the pension acquired by the self-assessment of contributions is inherited, that is, , be familiar ”.

The law clearly stipulates that policyholders who pay for their time of service have no right to work for another employer, as it is not possible to be insured for two reasons. Insurance under article 15 of the law automatically terminates if the person who paid the contributions is included in the insurance under the employment contract or another contract that receives the agreed benefits.

Currently, some 20,000 citizens pay their own pension contributions. That’s a third less than ten years ago, when large numbers of workers lost their jobs due to privatization and bankruptcy.

The internship can be paid for by those who are just a few years from retirement, but also by those who have never worked. The condition is that they are over 15 years of age, with the exception that if the insured does not pay the contribution within six months, he loses that right and can exercise it again, but must submit a new application.

The basis for the payment of seniority is 35 percent to five times the amount of the average salary of the previous year. Policyholders can choose any of the 13 bases. More than half of those who pay do so on the lowest basis.

This number is expected to decline further this year, as there are developments related to those who work for companies in foreign countries. As of this year, they have the same condition as any self-employed activity, the basis for the payment of seniority is the income they earn, provided that, as in other cases, it does not exceed the five average salaries of the republic.

Most of them are those who work through the Internet, carry out programming, design or tourism work, and in that way they resolve their situation and enroll in mandatory social security.

For those who continue to pay for their service under article 15, the law clearly establishes that from the moment of the application only 30 days can be paid retroactively, paid every month, and to acquire the right to a pension without a single business day, need to pay at least 15 years.
