The director of the Serbian Corridor, Aleksandar Antić, visited the future bridge over the Sava within the Ruma – Šabac – Loznica highway and expressway.

He, together with the director of the Azvirt company in Serbia, Murat Tuhoglu, and representatives of the Expert Supervision, visited the works to familiarize themselves with the dynamics of the works and the subsequent plans for the construction of the bridge.

Antic expressed its satisfaction with the results achieved so far and the work that is being carried out in accordance with the planned dynamics, and stressed that it is necessary to respect the established goals, as well as the maximum commitment of all the participants in this project.

“The works on the construction project of a bridge over the Sava are progressing according to the established plan, we are grateful to the contractor, our partner Azvirt from Azerbaijan and the director Tuhoglu. For us, the maximum commitment and good cooperation with others participants in the project is especially important. The works will be carried out according to the established standards and the established deadlines, “said Antić.

After touring the works, the director held a working meeting at the construction camp and highlighted the strong support for this project of national importance, provided by President Aleksandar Vučić, the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure. Antic expressed its willingness for the maximum personal commitment and in that sense announced the holding of weekly meetings with all the participants of this project.

To date, 300 piles, 13 header beams and 7 pillars have been completed, and the installation of scaffolding and formwork for the construction of the section’s structure is in process.

The planned length of the bridge over the Sava is 1,361 meters, it will be based on 371 piles, with a total of 45 headwaters and 47 piers. The main span between the S6 and S7 piers, depending on the dimensions of the waterway, is 155 meters, which is the largest and most demanding range for construction.

As a reminder, on November 19, 2019, the commercial contract on the design and execution of the works on the Ruma – Sabac highway and the Sabac – Loznica highway was concluded. The total length of this road is 77 kilometers and the construction of a total of 56 facilities is planned, of which 54 bridges and 2 loops.
