According to the president of the Serbian Police Union, Lazar Ranitović, according to the citizens, the policeman easily shows the badge, but at a certain distance, that way he identifies himself, and that does not make a sudden spectacle.

“They showed him a police badge or something similar, tied him and his sister and stole 100 euros,” Ranitović told Prva TV.

As he said, the investigation is ongoing and for now it is unclear whether they were actual cops who abused his badge or someone who received a union badge.

“But I trust my colleagues and I think it is a fake badge. I think they got the badge from a union or a citizens’ association,” he said.

Ranitović said that in the statement, the robbed man stated that he saw the plate, but could not say whether it was real or a copy.

“Probably when the scare passes, when everything goes to bed and they show him more badges, he will recognize it,” he says.

He also claims that the copies of police placards being made today are so credible that even he, as a police officer with nearly 30 years of work experience, has a problem noticing which are real and which are false.

When asked how the thieves knew there was 100,000 euros collected from the bank in that apartment in Zvezdara, criminologist Zlatko Nikolić claims that someone from the bank probably reported the thieves.

“By the way, a police officer shows a badge, I know if it’s fake or not. The badge shows authority in itself,” he said.

Let us remind you, yesterday a film theft took place in Zvezdara when fake policemen broke into SP’s apartment (39) and stole 100,000 euros.

According to Belgrade media, the victim recently obtained a bank loan and the thieves noticed it then.

Unofficially, he was robbed from the apartment where he was with his sister, and the robbers tied him and her up.
