HOUSES-CAFES ARE GROWING IN SERBIA You pay 200 dinars for 24 hours, enter the code and 200 people inside! Guaranteed discretion and

In addition to irresponsible caterers, young people are increasingly organizing crown parties by renting houses and cabins on the outskirts of cities across Serbia and turning them into “secret cafes”. Furthermore, they have turned it into a business and, to make matters worse, the competent services cannot avoid such meetings.

For weeks now, “secret cafes” on the outskirts of cities or towns have been a hit with young people. The teenagers decided to circumvent the ban on working in cafes after 8 pm by renting houses and weekend houses that operate from 00:00 to 24:00.

– We rent a cabin near the city for a month. The price is ridiculous: 200 euros. During the day, people come, there is a box at the entrance where they leave 200, 300 dinars for entry. They stop by a cafe and socialize. At night, there are parties, we play music, we make a bar, every night we have up to 150 people – a boy from a village in Šumadija told “Blic” that he wished to remain anonymous.

As he says, both high school and college students and the slightly older ones come to these “secret cafes”, many of the ideas of how to get five or six of them to hang out during the crown have now worked.

This case is not alone. In the vicinity of larger cities, it is almost impossible to rent empty houses and country houses for a long time.

Private crown parties are a bigger problem

Belgrade Deputy Mayor Goran Vesić also noted that “private crown parties” in apartments, houses and weekend houses are perhaps more dangerous than gatherings at catering facilities.

– We can control the observance of measures in cafes and restaurants, unlike meetings in apartments where you cannot enter and prevent people from meeting. Belgrade is committed to greater respect for existing measures and punishing those who do not respect them. For that reason, we are against shortening working hours because we believe it is better to control the situation on the ground in cafes and restaurants than to allow more people to meet in private homes, Vesić noted.

As he said, there are fewer and fewer catering services where parties are held, because the organizers are penalized, and there are more and more cases of this type in private houses and apartments.

Criminal charges against catering companies

As a reminder, almost two weeks ago, the First Base Prosecutor’s Office ordered the detention of up to 30 days for the organizers of the party at the club in Tasmajdan with up to 700 guests. Custody was ordered for the GM director and LD owner, who are criminally charged for failing to comply with health standards during the epidemic.

A fine or prison sentence of up to three years is foreseen for this crime. The same punishments are threatened against the owner and manager of “Gradska kafana” in New Belgrade, MM (35) and VD (31), who organized a crown party with more than 400 people at the bar last weekend.

Strict discretion and encrypted tickets

On the other hand, the crown of the party in apartments, houses and cabins is much more difficult to detect because the competent services cannot break into those facilities and count the guests. That is why these parties are organized in strict secrecy and according to pre-established rules to eliminate all traces of the outside world.

Only so-called trusted people, that is, people who know the meeting organizers well, can attend such parties. These people can bring their family and friends to the meeting, but only if they guarantee discretion. The code that is spoken at the entrance at the exact agreed time is often used as a ticket for those closed corona parties.

No delay is tolerated. The door does not open even for the regular guests if they are late. Whoever enters the crown party cannot even leave the facility at any time, but must announce their departure so that “security” provides a “safe” exit.

It all takes place behind closed doors and windows with mostly dimmed light and music.

More and more young people are getting infected

That the crown parties in cabins, apartments and houses have taken off can be seen by the fact that lately, the virus has spread more and more among young people, and even among teenagers.

– These are mainly older primary and secondary students, which is expected since they returned from vacation. On the other hand, we do not know if they were infected at school or in the family, because most of their parents are also infected, and we know that many of them took advantage of the holidays to go to the winter. Fortunately, these children have mild symptoms and do not require hospitalization, but the number of examinations has really increased – emphasizes the head of the KBC Children’s Clinic “Dr. Dragisa Misovic”, Dr. Olivera Ostojic.
