Heating plants in Serbia have started with district heating of apartments and business premises, energy sources have been provided, so during the heating season we should expect a regular supply of thermal energy, the president of Tanjug told today today the Association of Heating Plants of Serbia, Dragan Stojanović.

There are 56 heating plants in the association, and several smaller ones have not started heating so far, but will do the same on October 15, when the heating season officially begins.

– At this time, heating has not started in Knjaževac, Bačka Palanka, Srbobran and Žitište. We await its start on October 15 – he said.

He says that there are debts from the thermal power plants for energy, but that it should not jeopardize the season because most of them have been reprogrammed with suppliers.

– The fact that about 63 percent of natural gas, about 36 percent of fuel oil and 80 percent of coal have been agreed means that the security of heat supply will be fully maintained – he said.

The crown crisis has partly affected the collection of heating plants from citizens and legal entities, he says, adding that citizens owe a total of almost 20 billion dinars to heating plants.

– The most important thing is that there are no such debts that put this heating season in danger – Pavlović assessed.

The price of district heating does not change, and Pavlović explains that several factors influence price formation and that district heating is the cheapest in Obrenovac, Požarevac and Kostolac, where thermal energy is purchased from thermal power plants.

In Serbia, there are a total of 636,880 households in Serbia with district heating systems, which represents more than a quarter of the total number of households in Serbia.

With commercial premises, the total area covered by heating plants during the heating season is 45 million square meters.
