The provincial secretary of Health and member of the Crisis Staff, Zoran Gojković, said tonight that the biggest problem is in large cities where the spread of the coronavirus is accelerating and that it is worrying that in five to seven days the number of people analyzed and those who test positive 10 to 15 percent require some type of hospital treatment.
“Daily it reaches 300 to 400 people per day throughout Serbia who require hospital treatment. These are huge numbers that the health system cannot handle at the moment. In 10 to 15 days, if we look, because we don’t have normal growth, we have exponential growth, we will accept around 5,000 seriously ill patients for hospital treatment, ”Gojković told RTS.
He claimed that no health system in the world can support that, and claimed that oxygen is consumed in Serbian hospitals in one day, like a month. He said that we have a very unfavorable epidemic situation with an imminent emergency situation in a part of the local governments of Serbia.
Predrag Sazdanović, Acting Director of the Kragujevac Clinical Center, said that an epidemic chain was underway, starting from the big cities and spreading to other cities, and that our system was in an alarming state for the third time.
He added that currently 135 people are hospitalized in Kragujevac, but that 80 percent of the patients require oxygen treatment and that these are moderate and severe cases. He noted that in the first race, that percentage was 60 to 65 percent.
“We are at 33 percent capacity at the moment and we are successively opening new spaces to prepare for new shocks,” but that cannot be held indefinitely.
Danica Grujicic, director of the Serbian Institute of Oncology and Radiology, said that oncology patients at that health institution were treated as before the outbreak of the epidemic.
He noted that only checkups are limited and that an invitation was sent to patients who were cured to come in December.
“We cannot suspend the first examinations. New cancer patients must be diagnosed on time. Neurosurgery is working full time all the time. Tomorrow, although it is a holiday, we will perform six operations, because brain tumors cannot wait,” said Grujicic .
Few people violate the measures
Gojković assessed that the largest number of citizens adhere to the measures and that he is grateful to them. However, he adds, there are a small number of people who violate the measures that they do to show courage or because they do not understand the moment we live in.
“We must all work together, united, in solidarity and in unison, because this cannot be solved by a single person, it cannot be solved with any measure, with any more rigorous sanction, because it leads to a problem, and that is a problem. for the whole society. “Gojkovic said.
Predrag Sazdanović said that Kragujevac is in an emergency situation for more than 140 days and that all those who are trying to circumvent the prescribed measures are clearly told that the measures must be respected.
“We need to act with conscience. We are at war and we do not have a hundred enemies. We only have one enemy. It is called the crown, kovid 19, which has occupied the entire world and will endure.
