Jasminka Bjeletić told RTS that a person with health education was recommended to still use a home test for coronavirus.
“Not everyone does it on their own initiative, because we know that not all of us have enough health education and that there would be no errors in use,” added Bjeletić.
He notes that the tests are very easy to use using nasal swabs.
“With a sterile stick, it is necessary to go deep to the root of the nose, as deep as possible, there should be no mistake not to go beyond the required level and gently remove the contents of the nose, with gentle movements. the contents are taken out, then the stick is dipped into the ready-made chemical and then pressed five times so that the contents and the antigens that are present inside are finally squeezed into the bottle, “explained Bjeletić.
He added that it is necessary to wait ten, fifteen and up to 30 minutes for the detection to take place.
If the test is positive, two lines appear, he emphasized.
He noted that if the home test is positive, it is certainly positive, as are tests done in labs.
“If the test is negative, it does not necessarily mean 100 percent negative, considering that the patient could have had the test a little earlier, before the antigen that we are detecting appears,” concluded Bjeletić.
