The legendary Giška was honored by his sister Slavica Božović, his niece, opera singer Tamara Nikezić, godfather Zdravko Vuletić, whom the deceased baptized a few days before he was killed, and several other friends.

On this occasion, Giška’s sister, Slavica, brought a Serbian flag from her apartment in Belgrade, with which she covered her brother’s bust.

During the commemoration in the Central Cemetery of Belgrade, where Djordje Bozovic-Giska was buried, the priest held a funeral in the Martinique cemetery, Kuci, Montenegro, where the body of the athlete killed in 2017 was transferred.

Especially for the portal Alo.rs Giška’s sister, Slavica Božović, gave a video clip of the commemoration in Montenegro.

Relatives, godparents and friends of Đorđe Božović Giška recalled that this great man was killed that day at 15:50, and that he once said: “If you bring me dead, bury me in Kuči.” At the same time, they note that when Giška turned 26, he and the remains of his parents Milena and Gavril were transferred from Belgrade to Kuče, to the Martinique cemetery, which Gishka’s body was incorruptible! This was witnessed by the priest Džomić, who served in the memorial service and the Metropolitan of Montenegrin-Primorska SOC Amfilohije.

It is interesting to note that in addition to the cult of the people, it is necessary that the future saint lived from the “voice of holiness”, which means that during his life he was unconditionally committed to the Christian faith – explained in the Serbian Patriarchate. According to them, the proof of a holy life is an incorruptible body after death, or the peace poured out from the relics. Miraculous healings, unlike Catholics, are not a mandatory element to have a new person with the saints. Much more important is the character of true seekers of God that future saints build for life.

.

He is a gentleman of the Serbian people.

It is also interesting to say that before going to the battlefield in Gospić, Đorđe Božović – Giška went to say goodbye to his mother Milena and said: “I am going, mother, to Gospić, to die for my people.” The abbot who confessed to Giška before his departure to the battlefield, said that he had never met so many believers and a more sincere penitent than Đorđe Božović – Giška. Therefore, he is an absolute hero and a gentleman of the Serbian people to his relatives, godparents and friends.
